Abstract: Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions affecting more than 50 million people worldwide (https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/epilepsy). Despite numerous antiseizure medications (ASM), approximately 30% of all patients will develop drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). DRE leads to devastating health and socio-economic consequences (Luoni et al., 2011).
