Abstract: Dopamine, often termed the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, plays a crucial role in myriad physiological and psychological brain processes. While dopamine is primarily associated with pleasure, reward, and motivation, its effects can be quite complex; and this complexity is further compounded when examining how dopamine functions in typical versus disease-affected neural circuits.
