Abstract: The aging process is an inexorable fact throughout our lives and is considered a major factor in developing neurological dysfunctions associated with cognitive, emotional, and motor impairments. Aging-associated neurodegenerative diseases are characterized by the progressive loss of neuronal structure and function. Numerous efforts and approaches are underway to enhance the quality of life and health span, including parabiosis with plasma pro-youthful factors, therapy with trophic factors, Klotho protein, caloric restriction, mitochondrial function, multivitamin supplementation, mesenchymal cells, and rejuvenation with Yamanaka genes, among several others (Kelly et al., 2024; Viña and Borras, 2024).
